Romans Summary

Romans is a letter written by the Apostle Paul to the Christians who were living in the city of Rome, dispersed across a number of local churches in the city. I’m guessing there were geographical reasons for having multiple churches—that is, Rome was a big enough city that it made sense to have a place to worship that was closer to home—but there were also issues between Jewish and Gentile Christians, which Paul addresses a couple of times in this letter.

Acts Summary

Acts is the last “historical” book of the New Testament – and, therefore, of the entire Bible. The GospelsMatthew, Mark, Luke, and John—covered the story of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ (a.k.a. the Messiah, a.k.a. the Anointed One, a.k.a. the Saviour), and now Acts continues that story to tell the story of the beginning of His nascent Church on Earth, led by Peter, James and other Apostles, eventually introducing a man named Paul, himself becoming an Apostle and important teacher.

1 and 2 Kings Summary

The book of Kings has been broken down into 1 Kings and 2 Kings in the modern Old Testament Christians now use but it was originally one book. I’m treating it as a single book in this summary because it really is one long story, that continues from 1 Kings right into 2 Kings. Or rather, a long series of small stories that add up to one lone story.
